Our Pastor
Chris and his wife, Nancy, are originally from Southern New England where they were married in 1991. Before getting saved at the age of 27, Chris worked in Aerospace Manufacturing and had obtained two secular degrees; one in Mechanical Engineering and then a second in Business Management.
In 2001, he and his family were attending Heritage Baptist Church in Wallingford, Connecticut when he was called to preach under Pastor Thomas Bish.
In 2002 they moved to Illinois in order to attend Providence Baptist College, a ministry of Northwest Bible Baptist Church. After graduating with a Pastoral Theology degree in 2005, they remained active, working in various ministries such as Reformers Unanimous, Adult Soul Winning and Adult Sunday School Class as Team Leaders.
In 2008, they moved to Lemont, Illinois to Emmanuel Baptist Church where he worked as the Assistant / Youth Pastor. It was in this ministry that God taught both Chris and Nancy how to build a powerful youth group for the Lord.
In July of 2009, God called Chris and his family to Southern Illinois for the purpose of starting a church. While putting the start-up plans together, they attended Lafayette Bible Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Ed Bragg. This would also be the church that they would birth Victory Bible Baptist Church out of.
On October 4, 2009 VBBC had their opening service with 25 people in attendance. However, it was not until 6 months later when God would provide a miraculous opportunity for VBBC to purchase some property.
On April 4, 2010 VBBC moved into their current facility which has two buildings with a combined space of 7000 ft2 on approximately 3 acres. Since this time, God has been adding to the church on a frequent basis.
